We have lift off! ASOS CC event under way!

April 28, 2018

After twelve weeks of high intensity development :) our ASOS VR experience, Ascend, and event app, Engage are both up and running.

Over the course of the next 7 days we will have 12 Oculus Rift headsets running 24 hours a day, as 1500 ASOS CC employees are taken on a virtual journey, imagining they're engagement with customers taking place in a futuristic space port, with customers being gathered by giant robotic arms as you race upwards on a moving platform that launches the user, and the customers they that have joined them, into an alien landscape alongside thier ASOS colleagues.

This is one of those occasions when words really don't do the project justice. Probably easy to understand if you take a look at what we did by clicking here.

Less graphically dramatic but ultimately just as important in the wider scheme of the event was our Engage app.

This was developed to be the organisational glue behind the week long training process. Using AWS cloud storage and processing we created an app and database back end that provided each user with an individual schedule for the weeks events, based around their respective shift patterns and the demands of the business. In addition the app gamified the event, providing users with challenges to be completed and a global scoreboard on which their progress was displayed. If database driven, gamifying, scheduling and scoring apps are what you're into then we'll have details up in the Work section of the site shortly.

New year, new logo, new website

January 01, 2018

Happy New Year!

As 2018 rolls around we've finally gotten around to updating our website, something we've been promising to do for the last year at least.

Aside from freshening up the look, something that was really needed, we now have a much more adaptable website design that is keeping with our transition from a production managment consultancy to a more public facing technical solutions company.

We hope you like what we've done with the place.

Royal Bank of Scotland VR Customer journeys goes live today

November 30, 2017

After a three day setup on site, our Royal Bank of Scotland VR project went live today at the London Excel arena. Tom Chi, former Head of Experience at Google X, who was on site to deliver a talk, stopped by to spend a bit of time trying out our Oculus Build, proclaiming it afterwards to be "very cool". To say that's a compliment would be a massive understatement.

We can't show you any of this content yet; so for now we'll just post a picture of Tom himself with headset on, just in case you didn't believe us.

We can finally talk about the project we've been on since just after Christmas, and it's a biggie! Edinburgh CGI studio Interference Pattern asked us to help out as technical consultants on their work on the Gorillaz new 360º promo video for the first release of the new album.

Glasgow Velodrome VR

March 06, 2017

We've just finished the post production for a film with the people at The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in the Emirates Arena in Glasgow so we thought we'd post to let you know that a preview is available to watch in the Our Work section of the website.

The film was created as part of a larger standalone VR app for Canadian IT solutions provider CGI, and presented us with some pretty significant challenges when it came to filming and stitching the footage, not least of which was ensuring that we could safely mount a camera rig to the bike involved.
